Welcome to Nutopia – The Place Between
A newsletter for extreme moderates in design, technology, branding and business.
Introducing Nutopia: a newsletter and blog for those who seek to chart a balanced course in the turbulent seas of contemporary design and technology for brands and societies. Nutopia aims to cultivate a space for what I call extreme moderates — leaders and professionals seeking to grasp the magic and menace of our transforming world without getting swept up in baseless hype or unwarranted despair.
Hence Nutopia: a place for new things without leaning into utopia or dystopia.
Let’s start by recognizing that we live in an era that loves edges. Polarized opinions are thrown around carelessly, causing the pendulum of discourse to veer from unbridled euphoria to certain doom in a heartbeat. New advancements are hailed as the panacea for all our woes or decried as the fast track to oblivion. Balance and sensible examination with measured enthusiasm and guarded skepticism are ever rarer.
Nutopia is here to find that middle course while doing it entertainingly.
Consider Nutopia as your guide to extreme moderation with new technology, the potential of design, brands and marketing, and how they can help companies, people, societies and the planet. This is a place for the measured and the mindful, the curious and the critical, the brave and the balanced.
Nutopia seeks to inspire, provoke and inform. At Nutopia, the future is not an unblemished paradise or an inevitable apocalypse. It’s a fascinating landscape to navigate with a curious spirit, open mind and clear eyes.
